The Saffer Home Project

The Saffer family is undertaking a renovation of their Lynchburg home to create a more functional, accessible, and inviting space. Their design priorities include an open-concept kitchen and family room, ample storage, and a layout that supports their active lifestyle. They aim to incorporate Universal Design for future accessibility, particularly in the master bedroom and bath. The home should accommodate their three children, with a shared room for the girls and a separate bedroom for their son, along with a laundry area and durable, easy-to-maintain surfaces to withstand frequent activity and entertaining. The Saffers also want a contemporary aesthetic that remains warm and welcoming, blending their love of color and casual, homey comfort. The space should be flexible for hosting large family gatherings, including their extended family and kids' sports teams.

Group Lighting Project

This project challenges teams to work together to design a reflected ceiling plan (RCP) for a house, focusing on how lighting enhances spaces. Our team selected fixtures, created a switching plan, and prepared specifications. The digital poster will showcase the design, with a focus on project management, design principles, and collaboration.
